Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the public health nutritionist works with the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program(s) (CPNP) the incumbent aims to provide support to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women, new mothers, and infants by working collaboratively with CPNP staff.
Using population health and health promotion approaches to focus on the interactions among the determinants of health, disease prevention, food security, and nutritional and overall health. This includes using collaborative intersectoral approaches to assess needs, plan, organize, manage, direct, coordinate and evaluate population health nutrition services within their assigned area. The incumbent serves the entire population within their assigned area, including the public, professionals, and community groups.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree in Nutrition
Registered and in good standing with the Saskatchewan Dietitians Association
Basic knowledge and ability to use standard computer programs
Must hold a valid Saskatchewan drivers license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrates:
Strong knowledge of principles and practices of population health, public health, normal nutrition principles, nutrition throughout the lifespan, and health promotion/disease prevention techniques
Strong knowledge of maternal, infant, and child nutrition
