The Food Centre has a job opening for a Food Crop Quality Junior Technician. This position will assist the Food Crop Quality Team in analyzing whole seeds and the flours of a series of food-graded crops. Training will be provided.
Duties and responsibilities:
Safely operate various analytical instruments, such as protein analyzer, muffle furnace, oven, mills, texture analyzer, mastersizer, and analytical balances.
Laboratory and data record-keeping.
Ability to read and understand operating manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Candidates must have attention to detail and be able to report any new findings/discrepancies/errors in the experiments.
Ability to lift weight up to 22.3 Kg.
Follow established QA/QC standards at the Food Centre
Qualifications:
High school graduation is required. A diploma or bachelors degree in Food science, Plant science, or related fields is preferred.
Candidates with experience analyzing seed quality, flour composition, and functional properties are preferred.
Other required skills: good communication, computer knowledge, and efficient experiment planning.
