Description

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Director is responsible for successful leadership and oversight, effective management and administration of the Okanese Daywalker Home Fire Family Centre.  The Director is accountable for the planning and management of operations including policies and procedures, programming, case management, human resources, financial compliance, facilities, community relations, advocacy for the families and excellent governance of the facility.
Responsibilities:
-develop and implement operational policies and procedures
-demonstrate sound judgment to deal with difficult and crisis situations in a professional and timely manner
-foster and develop strong cooperative relationships between the Home Fire Centre, Okanese Chief and Council and membership, Board of Directors and other organizations
-ensure preparation of an annual budget that reflects the goals and philosophies of the Okanese Home Fire Family Centre
-provide comprehensive reports as required for finances
-Review monthly expenditures, reports and projections of financial requirements
-provide leadership and overall supervision to personnel in a supportive work environment
-coordinate, facilitate and attend regular Board of Director and staff meetings
-excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
-extensive experience in organizational, financial management, program development and delivery
-experience working with various computer programs
-ability to incorporate Okanese First Nations traditional teachings
-knowledge of political, social and economic objectives of Okanese First Nation and of Cree culture an asset
-must possess a valid Saskatchewan driver's license
-must provide a current, original Canadian Criminal Record Check (CPIC) with vulnerable sector search as a condition of employment
