ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES will include but are not limited to:
Answer to the Council and CAO
Be responsible for the management, administration and delivery of public works services in accordance with the Policies and Procedures
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
Must also review regularly the maintenance and operation of all machinery, buildings and perform inspection of all roads, culverts and other service assets
Must deal with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner
Must be able to lead operators with strong work ethics & morals while working as a true team member
Oversee RM work and contract work
Basis of 2230 hours per year; emergency & overtime hours as required
Physical ability to lift up to 60lbs
Personal Safety equipment will be required
Hazards associated with the trade/construction sites
Required to attend Regular Council Meetings, Additional Meetings, Conventions and Training Sessions as necessary
Preference Will be Given To
Valid Saskatchewan drivers license, preferably 1A(Driver's Abstract Required with application)
Knowledge of truck and heavy equipment safety, maintenance & storage
Strong Mechanical and Welding Experience & Skills
Knowledge & Ability of operation of multiple types of heavy equipment
Knowledge of road construction & maintenance techniques
High level of personal integrity & Strong work ethic
Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Confident, consistent, decisive personal
Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed and motivated with pride in personal work completion
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Must include Criminal Record Check
