Description

As the Manager you will:
- Organize and complete the day-to-day HR and LR operations. This will include
i. strategizing and planning for HR services
ii. managing job postings and filling of vacant positions
iii. working with managers to respond fairly to staff and staffing concerns
iv. ensuring scheduling is timely, complete and compliant with CBAs
v. ensuring labour actions and decisions are in accordance with our CBAs (SEIU, SUN, OOS). This will include leading and supporting management in their responses and actions (e.g., discipline meetings, letters of expectations, investigations)
vi. supporting the continued implementation of our Attendance Support Program
- Ensure management team follows best practices, policies, HR/LR work standards, and the CBAs (via education, consultation, development of work standards, auditing, and monitoring)
- Contribute to a culture of positive and respectful employee engagement, continuous quality improvement of the HR and LR portfolio, and the successful implementation of best practices, policies, and HR/LR work standards
- Manage your team using good supervisory, motivating and performance management skills
- Participate in labour force planning and monitoring
- Lead the OH&S teams and functions at all three sites
- Work cooperatively and respectfully with staff, management and union leadership, and
- In the completion of the above work, adhere to the Mission, Vision and Values of our home and governing body
