Job Summary:
This is an in-scope position responsible for assisting in meal preparation, serving of food and beverage; cleaning dietary equipment and areas; restocking food and dietary supplies in a safe and efficient manner.


Essential Functions:
    Work independently and as part of a team to serve meals and snacks to residents
    Complete daily preparation and tasks as directed and required
    Understand menu items based on the explanation of the cook on duty
    Complete tasks in a timely fashion
    Correctly use, maintain, and properly clean equipment used on a daily basis
    Correctly follow health and safety guidelines for proper food service
    Work closely cooks, and other dietary aides to ensure successful service
    Ability to answer minor resident complaints and ask for duty manager intervention when necessary
    Any other duties as required.

Qualifications:
    WHIMS training
    Food Safe Certification
    Experience in food service is beneficial, but not required
    Good physical health for a demanding job (standing and walking for long periods of time is required)
    Good social and communication skills (dealing directly with our residents is a major responsibility of this position)
    Ability to work under pressure
    Willingness to accept responsibility for ones performance
