Description

Gill Ventures is a progressive grain farm located at the edge of the town of Leader, Saskatchewan. The operation is owned and operated by the Gill family and along with their team farms land from Portreeve, East to just inside the Alberta boarder, and North to Kindersley.  The operation has modern facilities and bin yards throughout their operating area.  

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of a team of 5-6 workers
- Provide timely updates on any mechanical or performance issues that occur throughout the day
- Manage equipment repair costs to a budget
- Perform farming duties; operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment

Job Requirements:
- Farming experience, obtained as a farm supervisor or by working on a farm
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Effective time management
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage the performance of a team and address interpersonal issues as needed
- Valid drivers license

Job Effort and Working Conditions:
- Work schedule: January-December, with flexibility for time away during the winter
- Willingness to work overtime (over 40 hours/week) as the workload is seasonally heavy
- Repetitive tasks such as bending, crouching, lifting, and reaching
- Full shifts standing and working on your feet
- Use of hand tools and mechanized equipment
- Regularly lifting 50+ lbs.
- Housing is available on-site
- Vehicle supplied by employer
- Experienced team leaders on-site to provide mentorship and training
- Opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus upon completion of the growing season
