POSITION SUMMARY:
The Health and Social Barrier Reductionist position is responsible for supporting health and human service organizations to identify and remove systemic, personal, situational, knowledge, and cultural barriers to access service and supports.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Facilitating knowledge transfer, service training, cross-sector mentoring, solution- building, data collection, and reporting
Increasing community awareness of the impacts that barriers to service have on individuals and families affected by communicable diseases
Support data collection and analytical activities designed to better understand needs and service barriers in the community.
Additional duties of this position include providing individual support and system navigation assistance to individuals living with or at-risk for sexually- transmitted/blood-borne infections (e.g., HIV/AIDS); fostering capacity-building among human service professionals;
This job is ideal for candidates wishing to strengthen their portfolio and/or round out their career with hands-on experience in barrier reduction and data-driven solution-building.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Able to demonstrate superior public speaking, report-writing, and multi-tasking skills.
Minimum of 5 years experience assessing needs/barriers in a social, justice, education, or health setting.
Proven ability to collaborate across multiple health and human service sectors.
Strong analytical abilities and dissemination practices.
Proficiencies in problem identification and solution-building.
Must possess reliable transportation, a valid drivers license, and maintain the minimum, Saskatchewan vehicle insurance requirements.
Able to work effectively through remote presence technology (e.g., video conference).
