Description

The Social Worker - MSW is an integral member of the ABI Outreach Team, providing case management as well as psychosocial assessment, consultation, and therapy to clients of the ABI Outreach Team. The Social Worker provides support and education to the survivor, their families/support networks, and community agencies to facilitate community reintegration and assist with community resource development.

Education: Master Degree in Social, Work. Registration with SASW.

Experience: Experience with working with acquired brain injury clients, rehabilitation, case management, and community assessment and intervention is an asset.

Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge base and experience regarding Acquired Brain Injury (pediatrics and adult), and its effects on survivors and their support systems, as well as appropriate assessments and interventions.  Ability to carry out a comprehensive initial case management assessment, set client-centered goals, write initial assessment and progress reports, provide case management follow-up, and arrange appropriate consults from other team members/outside agencies.  Well-developed interpersonal & interactive skills with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of public & private agencies.  Well-developed oral and written communication skills, allowing for effective communication with survivors, their support networks, involved agencies, employers, insurers, schools, and other team members.
