Lloydminster Catholic School Division operates within a bi-provincial city, providing a full range of educational programming to approximately 3,000 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated, detail oriented, Financial Controller to proactively lead the finance function. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will focus on the day to day financial, treasury and accounting functions, including cash flow, detailed analytics, variance analysis, and internal controls. The Financial Controller is also expected to provide input into the improvement of the operational processes and controls within the School Division.
Responsibilities:
Full cycle accounting functions day to day processing of transactions, ensuring accounting records are up to date, completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Financial statements prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports. Review and assess financial position monthly. Assemble information and provide support for the year-end audit.
Budgeting assist the CFO with preparation and analysis of the annual budget.
Financial Information evaluate school programs and prepare various financial analysis reports.
Operational improvement continually review and provide guidance on optimizing the divisions processes and procedures. Provide operational support to all schools within the division.
Controls provide input to the internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash, and credit management.
Support the implementation of new accounting solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Accounting designation
+5 years experience as a Controller or within a financial leadership role
Working knowledge of PSAB and GAAP
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Professional, trustworthy and operate with a high degree of integrity
