Description

Chateau St. Michael's is a 93 room personal care home which is located in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, offering independent living and intermediate care suites.

We are currently seeking qualified, caring and compassionate team players to provide medical care within the full scope of practice as outlined for Licensed Practical Nurses. We offer full-time and part-time shifts of 12.5 hours and/or 8 hours.
Reporting to the Director of Care, Licensed Practical Nurses will be responsible for the following duties:
Provide bedside care.
Administers oral, injectable, inhalation, transdermal and topical medications as well as eye drops and ear drops, as prescribed, and accurately records in the MAR.
Provides bowel and bladder care (e.g. suppositories, enemas, catheters, ostomy bags).
Completes transfer / lift / repositioning and falls prevention assessments and posts appropriate logos.
Performs palliative and end-of-life care.
Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) as per care plan (eg. nutrition, personal care, and mobility).
Assisting with Resident Care Plan development, implementation, assessment, treatment and assisting with the creation of flow processes, forms, and work standards.
Direct and supervise care staff through assisting with specialized procedure training for care aides who are providing care within the programs and supporting and reporting.
Ensure that all required documentation is complete.
Observes, reports (written and / or shift), and records physical and psychological observations / changes in resident condition (e.g. skin, condition of feet and nails, mobility, nutrition, vital signs, and glucose levels). Reviewing all reports received.
