Research Agronomist (GLP)
Location: Saskatoon, SK
This is a full-time permanent position that will commence as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Conduct of assigned field research trials in soil dissipation, DFR, MOR/RAC following GLP guidelines. Layout, planting, maintenance and harvest of small plot research trials. Test item calculations and application, sample collection (crop/soil), trial documentation and equipment operation as per Standard Operating Procedures. Interpreting and meeting protocols, frequent communication of project status to clients and final report /notebook completion and submission.
Collaboration with Research Technicians to conduct field research activities. Working in a team environment, he or she will report to the Regional Manager.
Qualifications: BSc. in agriculture or equivalent education and experience is required.
Ideal applicants will have previous research experience in agriculture or an environment-related discipline. Previous summer employment experience in field research would be highly valued. Knowledge of seeding, spraying and harvesting equipment operation and maintenance, field trial design. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge and experience in Canadian agriculture. The successful applicant must be willing to travel periodically and complete tasks requiring extended work hours when necessary. Computer literacy using an IBM-compatible PC in a Windows environment is required. Experience with Excel and Word are required. A valid driver's license is required.
