Description

Our manufacturing operations are seeking expertise in the new role of Purchaser.  
The key responsibility for this position is to support & complement the efforts of the Production team.  The goal is to continuously improve the Company's ability to source and receive quality materials & purchased parts in a timely & cost-effective manner so that the Company can consistently meet production targets, customer commitments, & cost objectives.

Education/Experience
Post Secondary education with at least 5+ years of experience in roles such as Supply Chain, Purchaser, or Procurement. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in the manufacturing environment. Experience in the material module of the ERP system is an asset.
Duties
Continuously develop and qualify new vendors who offer equal or better quality, terms, service, and/or backup support
Reduce lead time of inputs and/or build sufficient safety stock to ensure continuous production
Ensure the whole supply chain process (sourcing new vendors, purchasing raw materials, logistics, & inventory management) is lean and efficient
Regularly evaluate the capabilities and performance of vendors
Monitor industry trends and ensure the Company takes advantage of opportunities while reducing risks due to any supply chain gaps.
Visit vendors as needed and to build stronger relationships.
