The Revenue Division of the Ministry of Finance is Saskatchewan's primary tax collection agency. The Division is responsible for the administration of several tax programs including the Provincial Sales Tax, Liquor Consumption Tax, Fuel Tax and Tobacco Tax.
The Tax Information and Compliance Branch, within Revenue Division, requires a confident individual and strong communicator with advanced analysis, research, interpersonal and computer skills, along with knowledge of accounting and auditing principles to fill an E-Commerce Tax Education Officer position.
Working within a team of tax education officers, this position conducts proactive and outreach education reviews with taxpayers who primarily have an online business to ensure conformity with various provincial tax statutes. You will be responsible for the collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and modeling of e-commerce data. As a member of a professional team, you will identify and contact e-commerce businesses that sell into Saskatchewan, reviewing business operations, accounting systems and records to ensure the tax client is meeting tax remittance and reporting responsibilities. As an E-Commerce Tax Education Officer, you will be required to complete day trips and approximately four weeks of overnight travel annually within Saskatchewan away from headquarters.
To succeed in this position, you will be detail oriented, analytical, and a proactive individual that thrives on applying initiative. You will possess advanced computer and data science skills which includes data visualization and data analysis. You will use your technical knowledge to conduct analysis in Excel and to identify and differentiate e-commerce revenue from retail revenue for large commercial businesses that sell both on-line and have a physical location.
