Description

Big River First Nation requires immediate applications for a qualified Vice Principal for Chief
John Keenatch High School. The Vice Principal shall work under the
supervision of the Principal and Director of Education, and shall meet regularly with the
Principal, staff, and Director of Education on their duties as outlined.

Duties & Responsibilities:
   To ensure all students are supervised in a safe, culturally sensitive environment that meets
the approved curricula and mission of BRFN Education Authority.
   To foster the achievement of holistic academic excellence by working collaboratively with
members of the school and communicating effectively with parents.
   To assist the Principal in meeting the responsibilities for scheduling, curriculum development,
extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility operations.
   demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture, and a willingness to learn
and implement Cree teachings in the school
   Previous successful school administration experience is considered an asset.
   Ability to work cooperatively with a strong school leadership team when:
   Setting Direction and Creating a Learning Organization
   Developing People and Leading the Instructional Program
   Being a Reflective Practitioner
   Strong interpersonal and communication skills
   A high degree of emotional intelligence combined with a growth mindset
   Excellent leadership capacity with the ability to deliver measurable outcomes aligned with BRFN
Education Authoritys Strategic Plan
   An innovative approach to education

Qualifications:
   Must hold a Bachelor of Education and Master's Degree.
   Possess a Teacher Professional A Certificate.
   Must provide a criminal record (CPIC) and vulnerable sector check.
