Description

The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic strategic leader for the position of the Executive Director, Acute and Emergency Services.  As an Executive Director, Acute and Emergency Services, you will provide strategic leadership for Acute and Emergency Services Branch.
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, the successful applicant will:
  - Provide strategic policy direction, program monitoring and evaluation, fiscal management and issues leadership;
  - Lead and direct the activities of a professional and dedicated team in areas including hospitals and specialized acute services including surgical and diagnostics, emergency medical services, cancer care, patient safety and critical incident reviews;
  - Develop and administer legislation, policies and procedures in alignment with governments strategic priorities and direction; and
  - Develop and maintain effective relationships with key system partners and stakeholders, other ministries, and governments.

Typically, the knowledge and competencies for this position would be acquired through the completion of a graduate degree in social sciences, health science, public administration or a related field, as well as extensive senior leadership experience.
