Potzus Ltd is one of Saskatchewans largest construction companies. Day to day operations include excavation, earth moving, site development, aggregate production, asphalt production and paving.
We are currently hiring for a position of controller.
Qualifications:
-Accounting experience in the construction industry.
-Needs to be a Hands-on accountant who is a problem solver, detail-oriented and focused on practical solutions to issues
-Highly motivated and productive employee
-Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources within projects.
-Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges
-Advanced written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information to all levels of management and the field
Responsibilities:
-Work with the entire management team to oversee department functions including, but not limited to; project financial margins, financial reporting, project budgets, contactor costs, equipment costs, procurement of services and parts
-Manage contract formation, potential contractor and supplier rating, bidders list preparation/qualification, bid analysis and procurement for materials, equipment and hours for efficiency in respect to logistics and operations.
-Assist with annual financial statement audits
-Participate in the preparation, review and analysis of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual financial information
-Review and distribute weekly job cost reports
-Participate in the preparation of income tax work papers to support complex income tax filings.
-Assist with ongoing maintenance services costs, needs and efficiency goals.
-Assist to manage equipment costs, parts inventory, and regular financial statements reflecting costs.
-A thorough understanding of the construction industry-in particular with heavy construction, highways and civil construction experience an asset
