Description

Reporting to the President and CEO, the EVP, People, Safety, Indigenous and Corporate Relations, will provide strategic direction to the Human Resources, Safety, Indigenous and Corporate Relations departments at SaskPower. This role will ensure that employees are prepared to develop and operate the company as a next-generation utility that is characterized by an environment of accountability and high performance. It is also critical that a collaborative environment is created where employees, customers, stakeholders and Indigenous rights holders can create and benefit from the power system of the future.

About SaskPower: At SaskPower, the success of our company is dependent on the strength of our people and relationships.  Established in 1929, SaskPower is defined by its commitment to support economic growth and enhance quality of life in Saskatchewan. Our employees are not only focused on providing safe, reliable, and sustainable power for customers, theyre also guiding our company through one of the most significant periods of transformation in its history. As a vertically integrated utility, we provide power to one of the largest service areas in Canada. Our team has over 3,000 permanent full-time employees. Almost one-half of our workforce is comprised of members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2067. Approximately 13% of workers belong to Unifor Local 649, with out-of-scope staff accounting for the balance. Together, they manage nearly $13B in assets, including more than 5,000 megawatts of generating capacity and over 157,000 kilometres of transmission and distribution lines. Collectively, we are focused on delivering on our daily commitment to our customers and province, while building a future electricity system that is competitive, reliable and clean.
