Description

The Ministry of Social Services, Community Living Service Delivery is seeking a caring and empathetic individual for the position of Crisis Support Therapist.

As part of the Provincial Clinical Crisis Services team and within an inter-divisional Multi-Disciplinary Outreach team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of crisis support outreach programs that are grounded in person centred philosophy. You will provide an array of clinical/behavioral intervention and consultative services to a variety of stakeholders including other government departments, service providers, families, and community based organizations.

Our candidate of choice will have the knowledge and skills gained and demonstrated through a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Nursing or a related degree in Human Services. Several years of post-academic experience in the development and/or delivery of therapeutic, educative, rehabilitative, behavioural or clinical services as well as experience working in a therapeutic capacity with individuals with intellectual disabilities would be considered an asset.

You will have the ability to provide reactive and proactive solutions to address complex and challenging behaviours to enhance the lives of children, youth and adults. You will be required to reconcile divergent views and interests and work towards mutually acceptable solutions with a strong ethical and child and youth centered approach.

This position may be exposed to the risk of violent situations.

This is a field worker position and will require you to spend a minimum of 50% of your work time away from your home office which may include overnight stays.
