Position: Meat Cutter NOC #94141 Reports to: Owners
Pine View Farms Natural Meats is an artisanal, farm-to-fork butcher shop that sells direct to the public and to stores and restaurants in Saskatchewan. Pine View Farms Natural Meats is known for its excellent quality premium meats because of the way animals are raised and the meat is processed.
Qualifications: Meat cutting experience in preparing a range of meat cuts and in processing sausage must meet the following requirements:
- Is a quick learner, has an eye for detail, can work independently, and can think on his/her feet to figure out the best, most efficient way to do things.
- Proficiency in English language skills proved by a current IELTS Report with minimum scores of S-4; L-4.5; R-3.5; and W-4.
- Is fastidious about food safety and cleanliness.
- Have a valid drivers licence and a means of transportation since Pine View All Natural Meats is located on a farm outside of Osler, Saskatchewan.
- Takes pride in a job well done.
- Can work in refrigerated conditions and be able to lift a 40 lb. box.
- Has three (3) or more years of experience in retail meat cutting and sausage making.
- Is free of any chemical dependencies
Duties include:
- Manage red meat and sausage production of beef and pork.
- Breaking down sides of beef and pork
- Cutting primals and retail cuts to order
- Communicating with sales people on orders
- Monitoring red meat freezer and cooler, ensuring product is stored safely and correctly.
- Document production
- Maintain butcher equipment and knives, adhere to cleanliness protocols and assist with cleaning as necessary.
- Contribute to product development in conjunction with Sales.
- Communicate weekly production schedule and daily tasks to staff.
- Manage cleaning, butcher and ingredient supplies.

- Slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses
- Slaughter poultry and remove inedible parts
- Remove feathers and singe and wash poultry to prepare for further processing or packaging
- De-bone meat
- Cut meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial or other wholesale use
- Cut beef, lamb, pork or veal carcasses or sides or quarters of carcasses into primal cuts for further cutting, processing or packaging
