Reporting to the Samaritan Place Life Enhancement Director, the Life Enhancement Guide is a member of the Interdisciplinary team and works in close partnership with the Holistic Care Team in utilizing professional methodology and practice to provide support to patients and their defined family. The role of the Life Enhancement Guide is to contribute to the holistic care of patients and families, be it physical, emotional, social, and cognitive through means of engaging in recreation pursuits. Life Enhancement Guide will promote the psychosocial wellbeing of all patients and plan and carry out interests and activities for patients, creating a diversity of opportunities for meaningful engagements, daily pleasures individualized for each patient. The Life Enhancement Guide honors all persons and is respectful of their unique journey and the interweaving of health, cultural, philosophical and/or spiritual tradition. Life Enhancement guide will collaborate with the Holistic Care team to provide intervention that promotes the patients capacity for optimal psychosocial well-being; providing leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating recreation therapy interventions and programs that are meaningful and valued by patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team; and representing Hospice at Glengarda in the community.
