Description

Funded by the RBC Future Launch program, this paid student position will work closely with the Student Engagement Coordinator and Learner Services staff on activities related to the New Horizons for Seniors and RIDE (Reconciliation, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity) Committee projects and Learner Services initiatives. The student intern will support the development and delivery of initiatives in both projects working closely with student volunteers and student engagement coordinator. Office location will be determined in consultation with the immediate supervisor. Contract breaks will be scheduled during student breaks (Christmas, February, and Easter). Travel around the region may be required. Mileage is compensated.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled postsecondary student or Cumberland College Alumni
- Preference for student with minimum grade 12 education
- Proficiency in proofreading, the use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Demonstrated competency in the use of computer applications, including use of the internet, email, advanced word processors, publishing software, data entry, and other technological skills, as required
- Proven excellent communication skills and effective public relations skills including the ability to be courteous and helpful
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, students, and community partners
- Strong organizational skills that support the planning and coordination of a variety of student activities
- Demonstrated strength with keep accurate event details and data
- Valid class 5 drivers license
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required
