Description

Join the Prairie Fire Cheerleading team!
PFC is currently looking for 2023 Summer Camp Art Leaders. PFC has art & cheer camps running throughout 6 weeks of summer. We are looking for someone to develop and lead the art portion of our two and three day camps. You will be asked to create and lead art projects that are fun and interactive for children ranging from ages 5-12 for weekly camps. Camps run from 8:30am-4:30pm with half of the day being allocated to art and half of the day allocated to cheerleading. Generally the art portion of the camp can be separated into the morning or afternoon. We show preference to applicants available to work all 9 weeks.

Ideal Camp Leader Qualities:
High School or Post-Secondary Students (preferred)
Art background or interest in art
Caring mindset
Strong work ethic
Aptitude & willingness to learn and adapt
Independent
First Aid (CPR/AED) recommended
You will need a Vulnerable Sectors Check
Leader Responsibilities include:
Supervise participants through art projects providing age appropriate adjustments
Facilitate 3-day and 2-day art programming
Create various forms of art projects
Create an example and the process to be used in future years
Clean and organize art area
Clean gym and building space in free time
Potentially help supervise cheer programming with lead coach
Job Types: Part-time, summer seasonal position Contract length: 2 months
Salary: $15.00-$22.00 per hour
Schedule:
3-6 hour shift (with 1 hour lunch shared lunch time).
Monday to Friday (the following dates are the scheduled camps.
July 5-7, 10-11, 12-13, 17-18, 19-20, 24-25, 26-28, August 8-9, 10-11, 14-15, 16-18
We are able to be flexible with the actual hours within the camp to meet the needs of the Art project (two day projects that require wait time) and the needs of a part time position.
There would be paid time allocated to develop and prepare the art lessons/projects and create a template for future years.
