Duties and responsibilities:
Do you have experience living with a mental illness or addictions? Are you in recovery and interested in sharing your experience with others that are struggling on their journey to recovery? Are you willing to share how living with a mental illness or addiction has impacted your life and how you have managed on your recovery journey?

We are looking for Peer Support Workers with real life experience that wants to give back to others by sharing their experiences. We will match you with an individual who is newly - diagnosed, or who has relapsed on their journey, or who is looking for a mentor with real life experience.

To assist the peer you are matched with, you must be willing to:  
-Share your lived experience in a way that demonstrates compassionate understanding and inspires hope of recovery
-Facilitate self-determination and the empowerment of peers to take an active role in their recovery and well-being
-Practice self-care, monitor your own well-being, and be aware of your own needs and boundaries
-Collaborate with community partners to assist peers to connect to other supports such as housing, employment (return to employment), volunteering, social clubs, activities, etc.
-Work closely with the Community Recovery Team and the Partners in Mental Health and Well-Being staff members

Qualifications:
Experience/Education:
-Basic email and computer skills
-Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle suitable for work related travel
Skills:
-Ability to understand and connect with individuals recognizing and connecting diverse needs and values set
-Comfort in working independently, or with minimal oversight.
-Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
