Facility: Weyburn General Hospital
Job Description: Reporting to the Southeast EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic/Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Advanced Life Support level.

The ACP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations.

Required Qualifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
CMA accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) level
CMA accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP/EMT-P) level
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) - Advanced
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the ACP/EMT-P level
Valid Class 4 drivers license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Effective oral and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills
Presentation skills
Other Information

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
