Description

Harvest Meats, a leader in premium meat processing, employs SUMMER STUDENTS annually to assist with increased summer production and vacation coverage. Preferable to post-secondary University students who can work full-time hours from May through until the end of August, however we also employ High School students who have availability primarily in July and August.

We have a wide variety of work schedules to fulfill our 24 hours a day / 7 days a week production and operational requirements; most of our vacancies are working a day-shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday with mandatory Saturday overtime as required. Evening shifts, 2:30pm-11pm are also available.

Summer Students can work in one or several of the below departments at Harvest Meats:

-Meat thawing (Tempering)
-Product batching and stuffing (Kitchen)
-Packaging & Boxing

Some of the skills and qualifications we look for in a Summer Student include:

-Currently pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution
-Able to thrive in all types of work environments (colder food-safe temperatures with appropriate PPE, working on your feet and with your hands, continuously lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs)
-Flexible and open to change
-Team-focused with strong people skills
-Organized, reliable, dependable, and attentive to work and quality
-Dedicated to following and enforcing workplace safety and food safety standards
-Willing to learn new techniques, procedures, and technology
-Optimistic and able to handle stress both calmly and professionally
-Able to problem solve and trouble shoot as required
