Saskatoon Housing Initiatives Partnership is a community-based organization providing leadership, and resources towards preventing, reducing, and ending homelessness in Saskatoon. As the Community Entity for Canada's Reaching Home strategy, the organization is responsible for planning with the community and administering Reaching Home funding. As the Communications Coordinator you will be in charge of developing our communications channels and platforms including email, website, and social media accounts. You will oversee all internal and external communications for SHIP including the creation of promotional materials to build and develop a brand identity for SHIP.
ROLE and RESPONSIBLITIES:
Excellent writing and content creation is required; must be able to translate diverse and sometimes technical information into public and strategic communications with close attention to audience, objectives, messages, tone, and accuracy.
Expert experience in Media, public relations, and social media
Strong background in creating and facilitating all common social media platforms (twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
Excellent time and resource management skills. Ability to handle multiple ongoing initiatives and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of the non profit and homeless service sector.
Exceptional verbal listening, and interpersonal skills to convey concepts as well as statistical, analytical, operational ad financial information.
Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders to work towards achieving a common agenda.
Team builder with a commitment to create and support an environment that enable staff to achieve results and develop while building organizational capacity for the future.
Develop and execute a creative, high impact annual communication plan including events and projects in alignment with SHIPs strategic priorities.
