Description

Job Duties:
Supervise and coordinate staff in landscape construction and maintenance.
Organize and direct installation of turf and sod, planting of shrubs and hedges, trees, garden flowers, splitting and relocating perennials, adding topsoil or mulch, shrub and hedge pruning.
Supervise and organize construction and installation of vinyl fences, decks, patios, walkways and walk steps, water features and retaining walls.
Schedule staff regular gardening care, including lawn mowing, garden edging, trimming, leaf cleanup and weed control.
Maintain work logs and financial records.
Read blueprints and drawings.
Tender bid and administer contracts.
Plan and estimate supplies and labour costs for contracts.
Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies.
Hire staff and train workers in job duties, company policies and procedures.
Establishing work schedules and coordinating snow removal activities in the winter months.
May perform the same duties as workers supervised.


Qualifications:
2+ years of landscape supervising experience is required.
Completion of a college diploma specialized in landscaping or a related field is preferred.
Industry-related training or professional certification is preferred.
Language: English is required, and a second language in Mandarin/Cantonese is an asset.
Teamwork skills and attention to detail.
