Qualifications:
- LSS Life Saving Instructor
- LSS National Lifeguard
- CPR "C" and Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care
Responsibilities:
- Monitor public activities in and around the swimming pool;
- Ensure adherence to rules and safety regulations;
- Perform rescues, artificial respiration and first aid as required;
- Prepare lesson plans and instruct lessons;
- Perform pool maintenance and facility maintenance as required;
- Have knowledge of the chemical and filter operations and maintenance;
- Perform water quality checks as needed;
- Supervise staff as required;
- Aid in lesson and event planning under the Pool Manager and the Manager of Recreation & Community Development;
- Have knowledge of cash reports and staffing requirements; and,
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
All qualifications must be proven as current.
Applicants 15 years of age, or younger, must have the Young Workers Readiness Certificate Course.
Preference will be given to applicants that Self-Identify as Members of Visible Minority Groups; including, but not limited to, First Nations, Metis and Inuit.
Preference will also be given to applicants with a Current Level 1 Pool Operators Course.
