Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Integration, the Skin and Wound Care Nurse is responsible for establishing processes that will result in care providers having the appropriate supplies and equipment to support their clinical practice and provide safe, efficient and cost effective skin and wound care.

The incumbent is self-directed and there is an expectation that the incumbent will communicate and consult frequently with the Directors of Acute Care, Primary Health Care  and Continuing Care regarding skin and wound care initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to adapt to changing conditions
Assessment skills
Communication skills
Interpersonal skills

Required Qualifications Continued:
Minumum of (5) years recent clinical nursing experience including experience in skin and wound care management.
Graduate of a recognized school of Enterostomal Therapy or NSWOC (Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence) or equivalent course.
Current CPR certification in Basic Life Support at Level C.
If the employer is unable to find a fully qualified candidate would consider an individual currently enrolled in the course and able to complete within 1 year of hire.

This is a regional position currently based out of Lloydminster. Travel throughout the region is required.
