Reporting to the Manager of Learner Services this position focuses on support services for students in the Adult Basic Education program on the Nipawin campus. The Outreach Worker will assist applicants on the ABE waitlist to become better prepared for the transition to school. Working as part of the Adult Basic Education and Learner Services teams, the Outreach Worker will participate in the development and implementation of recruiting and retention activities that support applicant transition to ABE and assist students with developing strategies for overcoming barriers that impact academic success and remaining in school. Key to this position is the goal of expanding students support networks by enhancing partnerships with Indigenous communities and external support agencies. As such, travel within the community and to outlying First Nation communities will be required. It is expected that the ORW will be flexible to provide services face-to-face or remotely via technology as determined by student needs and accessibility to campus community.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum four years of post-secondary education in Social Work, Human Services, or a pure Behavioral Sciences field, with a preference for a Social Work degree.
