Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is now inviting applications for a Casual, Cook to work for the Elder Catherine Charles Long Term Care Home. The ideal candidate will be required to provide healthy nutritious meals to the residents of the Elder Catherine Charles Long Term Care Home following the Canadas Healthy Food Guide.
Duties:
Plan and prepare food menu for a 24/7 operation that is consistent with Canadas Healthy Food Guide;
Must be able to follow a meal plan as set out by the Nutritionist;
Maintain records of food usage and supplies;
Obtain food and supplies based on budget;
Must be able to shop in bulk;
Must be able to keep inventory of all grocery supplies;
Clean and sanitize work area;
Other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designate.
Qualifications:
Must have relevant education; Safe Food Handling certificate is required;
Previous cooking experience is required;
Must be willing to take further education and training;
Valid First Aid/CPR & WHMIS is an asset;
Ability to understand/speak Cree is an asset and is desirable;
Security Clearance: Current Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector Check and Drivers Abstract required upon hire.
A valid Class 5 drivers license is not required but preferred.
