Description

We are looking for a motivated worker to join our Land Resources team as a Groundskeeper for the summer of 2023. The Groundskeeper is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean and groomed trail system, road, and walkways for visitors to the park, as well as maintaining the grounds in general and communicating concerns to ensure maintenance is established.


Responsibilities:
- Maintains a clean, safe and groomed trail system, road and walkways for all Wanuskewin visitors by consistently completing daily tasks.
- Clean and groom each area of the grounds, and ensure they are free of waste and hazards.
- Provides notification to management of any safety concerns or hazards and supply needs in advance to ensure inventory is kept at reasonable levels.
- Properly uses equipment in a safe, proper, and responsible manner.
- Participates in safety meetings and the development of safety policies.
- Conducts light maintenance duties to equipment and assets to ensure longevity.
- Mowing and trimming vegetation for trail maintenance and invasive species management.

Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in this field, with the ability to operate and maintain a variety of equipment.
- Combination experience maybe considered.
- Certifications for safety, equipment WHMIS, First Aid and CPR would be considered an asset.
- Candidates must possess a valid drivers license and CPIC.
- Involves physical labour and must have the physically ability to handle the duties.
- Skill of using a skid steer, skid steer operating license, and knowledge of chemicals is considered an asset.
- Experience using a chainsaw would be considered an asset.

This position will be funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program and candidates should familiarize themselves with the grant eligibility criteria.
