Calian, Advanced Technologies is looking for a Student Assembler to join our team. You will perform tasks related to the production of electronics and their associated products. You will be working in a hands-on environment to fabricate and inspect printed circuit card assemblies, electrical/electronic sub-assemblies, and/or cable assemblies. This opportunity offers on the job training and the opportunity to learn about manufacturing and general assembly practices.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- You will prepare, pre-form, and install components on innovative projects
- You will cut, strip, and form cables and/or harness assemblies
- You will terminate and install wires, jumper and connector assemblies
- You will solder components
- You will ensure a high quality of work by inspecting assembled items and performing simple testing procedures for compliance to standards and drawings
- You will identify components, including those which require ESD precautions
- You will follow prescribed documentation and manufacturing procedures
- You will recognize hand tools and know their proper application
The Skills and Experience You Have:
- An interest in working in a team environment
- No specific experience or education required
- You will have the ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
- You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
