Description

The Allan Swimming Pool is looking for qualified and energetic Swimming Lesson Instructors to run 2 1 week lesson sets for the 2022 season. Potential candidates are required to be 15 years of age, have up to date certificates including: Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross or their National Lifeguard Award, current Standard First Aid with CPR level C or equivalent, Water Safety Instructor Certificate and a WHMIS certificate no earlier than 2023.

Position Reports to: Pool Supervisor or the Recreation Director
Anticipated Start/End Date: July, 2023 to August 31st , 2023
Location: 227 Main Street, Allan, Sk. the Allan & District outdoor seasonal Swimming Pool.

    Provide all levels of public or private swimming lesson instruction.
    Provide a safe and supportive environment for all swimmers.
    Offer constructive feedback and evaluations for participants in lessons.  
    Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
    Maintain open communication with parents/guardians.
    Be a positive role model for young swimmers.
    Report to your Supervisor and the Recreation Director regularly
    Option to instruct evening Aqua Fit Classes for additional pay

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

    Education: Must be a high school or a post-secondary student returning to studies in the fall of 2020. Required to complete Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course (YWRCC) and obtain a Certificate of Completion if 15 years old.
    Experience: A minimum of 1 year experience working in a swimming pool facility.
    Additional Skills:
    Ability to maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate strong communication
    Ability to work with diverse groups of children and youth
    Ability to work with diverse groups of adults (if teaching Aqua Fit)
    Strong leadership and problem solving skills
    Time management and punctuality
