Description

The Allan Swimming Pool is seeking a knowledgeable and energetic Pool Supervisor for the 2023 season. Potential candidates are required to have up to date certificates including Standard First Aid with CPR level C or equivalent, Pool Operators Course, WHMIS, and their National Lifeguard Award. Water Safety Instructor/Lifesaving Instructor Certificate is an asset.
Position Reports to: Town of Allan Recreation Director
Anticipated Start/End Date: May 1, 2023  August 31st, 2023.  
Location: 227 Main Street, Allan, Sk. the Allan & District outdoor seasonal Swimming Pool.
Wage: Based on qualifications  
Job Responsibilities
    Manage daily operations at the Allan Swimming Pool including administering chemicals, documenting water chemistry levels, following opening and closing procedures, complete routine cleaning duties, keeping stock up to date, seasonal start up and shut down tasks and equipment checks, daily financial logs
    Scheduling of staff
    Supervise staff and conduct performance evaluations
    Maintain positive public relations with the community
    Enforce pool rules and ensure the facility is a safe and clean environment for staff and swimmers
    Create a swimming lesson schedule and follow Red Cross/Lifesaving Society Standards
    Maintain communication with the Recreation Director and Town Foreman
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
    Education: Must be 18 years or older and returning or completed school holding a diploma.
    Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience working in a swimming pool facility. Previous experience in a Managerial or Supervisory position is an asset.
    Additional Skills:
    Ability to supervise the work of others and be a positive role model
    Ability to maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate strong communication
    Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills and handle high stress situations
    Ability to have the tough conversations in a constructive way when needed
