Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Nursing, the Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse  will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in Psychiatry.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)

NOTE: This is a Provincial Posting and is open to all SUN members within the bargaining unit as per Articles 27.02 and 27.05 of the SUN Collective Bargaining Agreement. First preference will be given to employees of the SKHA (Saskatoon) and its affiliated agencies.

It will be desirable if you possess a knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques involved in performing nursing services relating to the care of patients in a psychiatric unit. This knowledge is commonly obtained through previous experience in acute psychiatric nursing.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons. Internal candidates may be required to provide a CRC and/or VSC during the recruitment and selection process.
