Job Description: The Clinical Nurse Educator reports to the Clinical Integration, Chronic Disease Manager and PHC Manager. Each Clinical Nurse Educator position will have specific responsibilities for education and development of resources to assist nursing staff in the specialized client needs and clinical knowledge of the designated unit/service in the Prince Albert Health Region. The Clinical Nurse Educator will work in consultation with the Clinical Manager responsible for the clinical unit/service.
The clinical nurse educator is a self-directed practitioner with strong communication skills who works in collaboration with interdisciplinary members to promote quality client and family centered care and cultural competence. The clinical nurse educator is an experienced practitioner with expert clinical knowledge and skills.
The Clinical Nurse educator is an educator, clinical leader, change agent, facilitator, and consultant.
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred
Current CPR certification in Basic Life Support at Level C.
Current licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) or RPNAS
Experience
- Requires a minimum of 3 years nursing experience in a related clinical unit/service.
- Previous experience in adult education is desirable.
- Experience in developing programs/resources for staff in the areas of planning, implementation, quality monitoring and evaluation, is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient use of computer, software, and peripheral equipment, i.e., Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as Microsoft Project, Sharepoint, & Visio
