Express Employment is currently seeking Shutdown Labourers who are interested in taking part on shutdowns in various locations in the Southern Saskatchewan area which are planned to take place over the course of the next 6-9 months. The ideal candidate would possess general labour experience at a minimum and preferably experience working with Hydrovac trucks or shutdowns in the oil & gas industry. Candidates that possess valid tickets of any of the following is a major asset: Confined Space, H2S Alive, Fall Protection & 1st Aid/CPR.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Work alongside Operators assisting with the operation and maintenance of vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools
Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labour intensive capacity
Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment
Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment
Ensure safety for all team members and property
Haul hoses, PPE and tools to where the work is being done
Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Confined space certificate is required (Please note this certificate can be provided to candidates with relevant required experience)
Ability to work days/nights, 10-12 hour shifts.
Able to work outdoors & in inclement weather as needed
Prior experience working at heights with the use of special fall restraint equipment is an asset
Experience with high pressure water jetting is a major asset
Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
Experience and comfort with confined spaces such as a small vessel/tank or trench
Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
Ability to work well in a team environment
