Agriculture in the Classroom Sask Inc. (AITC-SK) is a registered charity that inspires students to care about their food and the people involved in producing it. Working with educators across the province, we invite K-12 students to get curious and grow their own personal connection to agriculture through innovative, experiential programs and resources. AITC-SK is seeking a motivated, energetic program assistant to help deliver exceptional in-person educational experiences this spring and summer. Working both individually and with a team, the program assistant will facilitate classroom presentations, event sessions, and community outreach programs. Travel within the province will be required. The successful applicant will have experience leading activities with children, believe in the value of agriculture education, and be driven to work hard in a fun, team environment. This is a great opportunity to share your love for food, farming, cooking, or gardening with youth in SK!
Under the direction of the AITC-SK Programs Manager, the Program Assistant will carry out the following activities:
Facilitate educational activities for diverse audiences
Assist in the planning and preparation of activities
Support program reporting
Support general AITC-SK operations
Contribute to production of learning resources
Skills and Education:
Experience working with children
Experience working in a team
Excellent communication skills
Desire to steward relationships
Knowledge of agriculture and education system is an asset
French language fluency is an asset
Valid Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset
This position is funded through a wage-grant. As per the terms of the grant, the successful candidate must be under 30 years old. This position may be subject to grant confirmation.
