The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division has an opportunity for a Process Engineer-In-Training (new graduate) to support design, construction, commissioning and operational improvements for SRCs Rare Earth Processing FacilityNorth Americas first fully integrated, commercial, demonstration facility with hydrometallurgy, separation and metal smelting units. Join a growing team that is working to establish a rare earth element (REE) technology hub in Saskatchewan, forming an industry model for future commercial REE initiatives and supply chain development.
Accountabilities
Contribute to the design, development and testing of REE plant processes and circuits using virtual process models and various simulation software
Troubleshooting and improvement of existing processes, implementation of new technology, process optimization, production duties, development of new processes and participation in experimental plant trials
Collaborate with the project team, including frequent communication and daily collaboration
Assist senior engineers and designers with checking engineering deliverables, quality reviews and participating in construction and commissioning support activities
Qualifications
Chemical engineering degree with eligibility to register as an engineer-in-training (EIT) through the Association of Professional Engineers of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Experience using METSIM and AutoCAD software is an asset
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days
