Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is inviting applications for 1 (One) Indefinite Term Contract, Full Time IRS Counsellor to work in the community of La Ronge under the supervision of the Cultural Program Manager.
Duties:
Plan, organize and teach culture events with the schools and communities;
Knowledge and understanding of contemporary social, health and justice issues faced by First Nations;
Knowledge of First Nations cultures, communities and resources;
Provide assessments of clients, groups and family counseling;
Assist in crisis intervention planning for all communities;
Work closely with other health teams in organizing health promotion events;
Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designate;
Qualifications:
BSW/BISW or Bachelors Degree in Psychology and/or a related health care certificate;
Basic Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Outlook;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and Public Relations skills;
Ability to speak and/or understand Cree is a definite asset;
Ability to work in a dynamic environment, as part of a team and with minimal direction;
Excellent organizational skills; Ability to work within multidisciplinary team;
Must have a Class 5 Drivers license;
Security Clearance: Current Criminal Record Clearance/Child Abuse Record Check and Drivers Abstract required upon hire;
