Facility: ROYAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Job Description: TO PROVIDE CLINICAL AND RELATED SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE ADMITTED TO THE MENTAL HEALTH INPATIENT UNITS IN ORDER TO FACILITATE THEIR EARLY DISCHARGE AND RECOVERY IN THE COMMUNITY.  THIS POSITION REPORTS ADMINISTRATIVELY TO THE SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER WHO REPORTS TO THE MANAGER OF THE ACUTE CARE MENTAL HEALTH.  THE SENIOR POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE ROYAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL SITE.  THE MANAGER OF ACUTE CARE REPORTS TO THE GENERAL MANAGER OF MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES. STAFF WITHIN THIS PROGRAM WORK AS A TEAM AND ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO EACH OTHER.  BECAUSE OF THE VARIED NEEDS OF CLIENTS, STAFF RELY EXTENSIVELY ON EXTERNAL RESOURCES AND OFTEN WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FAMILIES, OTHER CAREGIVERS, AGENCIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
1 YEAR SUPERVISED POST DEGREE EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY IN A MENTAL HEALTH OR HOSPITAL SETTING REQUIRED.  
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to develop and deliver formal education programs
Ability to develop, evaluate and modify programming provided to clients
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Advanced communication skills
Advanced organizational skills
Facilitation skills
Knowledge of the health region and community resources
