Job Description: Reporting to the Southeast EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level.

The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations.

The successful candidate is responsible to obtain and provide an original criminal record check (CRC) & vulnerable sector check (VSC) from their local police service, RCMP or previous country/countries of residence that is dated within the past six (6) months that is satisfactory to the SHA. Internal candidates may also be required to provide a CRC & VSC during recruitment and selection process. Standby (on-call) required.
The successful candidate must possess strong patient-centred interpersonal skills;
A high level of technical skills and knowledge as PCP;
Above average ability to appropriately respond and function both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team during stressful and emergent situations; Thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures Thorough knowledge of application and operation of all equipment pertinent to the job and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
