Curatorial Technical Assistant - Collections Photographer
The Royal Saskatchewan Museum (RSM) is a natural and Indigenous cultural heritage museum located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Treaty-4 territory and the traditional territory of the nhiyawak, Anihinpk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Metis Nation. Established in 1906 as Saskatchewan's provincial museum, the RSMs mandate falls within areas that are guided by Treaty No. 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10.
The Royal Saskatchewan Museum is seeking two Curatorial Technical Assistants specializing in studio photography. These are one-year term positions. The successful candidates will be working with the museums Curator of Indigenous Cultural Heritage on a digitization project that involves photographing and cataloguing 3000+ cultural belongings under the stewardship of the museum.
Ideal candidates will have knowledge and experience in studio photography, including the necessary knowledge to take high quality photographs of collections as well as using software to process the photographs and their metadata in preparation for online publication. Knowledge and experience in entering data and using databases will also be considered a significant asset.
The RSM is located in beautiful Regina, Saskatchewan. The capital city, Regina is big enough to have all the amenities of a big city but small enough to be affordable and with no long commutes to work!
