Saskatoon Boiler is hiring a full time Design & Manufacturing Support Engineer to support our business in Saskatoon, SK. This is an office-based role, requiring extensive experience in boiler & pressure vessel manufacturing, welding process and procedures, quality protocols.The candidate requires a bachelors degree in engineering and be familiar with Canadian Provincial Standards including ASME, CSA, NB, B31.1 & B31.3.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyzing customer requirements and developing production drawings using Auto Cad/Solid Works
Using ASME Sec I, VI & VIII for preparing two dimensional drawings for pressure vessels.
Familiar with CSA B51 Standards
Handle material receiving and shop clearance in accordance with ASME Sec II & V
Preparation of technical memoranda reports and electronic deliverables
Effectively communicate technical aspects of products with shop foremen and management
Analyzing and updating electrical codes and standards that are required daily
Analyzing and updating ULC standards, new issues of ASME, and B31.1 & B31.3
Acting as a communicator between Saskatoon Boiler Mfg. Co. Ltd. and provincial safety authority/authorized inspector
Inspection and test plan of the product and deliverables
Thorough understanding of various welding procedures related to SAW, MIG/MAG & SAW
Analyze and revise welding procedures and update the same in production drawings
Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or related discipline
Previous work experience with boilers and pressure vessels
Must be proficient with AutoCAD, Solid Works & Compress Software
Familiarity with industry standard analysis software is considered an asset (Canada)
Knowledge of engineering codes and standards such as ASTM, ASME, CSA, NB
Previous exposure with TSASK, ABSA, TSBC, etc. would be considered an asset
Knowledge of oil/gas burners and systems
Must be a Canadian citizen or authorized to work in Canada.
