Description

Note: This position is pending funding from grants. Conditions of this grant require candidates to meet the following criteria to qualify:

Must currently be a full-time student and be planning to return to school in the fall semester as a full-time student. Appliants must be Canadian citizens/permanent residents between 16 and 30 years old.


The Outreach Science Educator supports the Saskatchewan Science Centre mission of igniting scientific curiosity in Saskatchewan residents through the delivery of the Go! Science and Go! Code Outreach programs. The programs aims to engage participants through hands-on programming, exhibit interpretation and science communication. The Outreach Science Educator is directly responsible for the delivery of programs conducted throughout Saskatchewan including school workshops, stage shows, special events, and summer education programming.

Specific Responsibilities
- Delivery of Outreach Programs including school workshops, community events, day camps, and in-house programs
- Customer service and promotion
- Program development and improvement
- Staff supervision and training
- Coordination and organization of travel
Other duties

Qualifications:
Experience delivering STEM programming
Experience teaching or instructing a variety of age levels
Willingness to travel
Experience in program delivery/development
Valid Class 5 drivers license
Criminal Record Check w/ Vulnerable Sector Check
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Training
Curiosity and interest in science
Flexibility and openness to a constantly changing environment

Working Conditions
This is a temporary full-time position and falls under the salary grid 2.5.
This position is required to travel.  Weekday availability will be required, with some evening and weekend availability being required.
The Saskatchewan Science Centre will provide meal per diems, a vehicle, and will also cover accommodations.
