Regina Youth for Christ is a Christian organization that impacts over 6,000 youth every year in Saskatchewan. RYFC runs 3 group homes in Regina. RYFC asks all staff to to sign the Behaviour-Engagement Commitment.
There is a current opportunity open for a Casual Youth Care Leader in one of our Regina homes. The position will cover shifts when full time employees are sick , on vacation or training. This position provides an opportunity to work with youth ages 12-15 in a group home setting. The right candidate must be experienced and/or educated in working with youth or young adults in a supportive environment.
Assessing and Planning
- Ability to support a youth's case plan
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team
- Ability to create a consistent evening and morning routine
Relationship building and Support:
- Ability to build trusted relationships with youth
- Ability to motivate and empower youth towards success
- Ability to support youth in problem-solving and behaviour choices
- Assist youth to create and meet goals
- Provide behavioural support
- Support youth with any day-to-day activity that they may require support with
Overseeing and Guiding
- Ability to redirect or apply consequences to a youth's choices
- Ability to hold a youth accountable for their choices
- Ability to set and maintain healthy, professional boundaries
*Requirement
-Must hold a valid class 5 novice 2 (minimum) Sask drivers license and able to carry 8 passengers.
-Must be available for Shift-Work including Weekends. School days shift is 3pm to 12 am. Nights is 12am to 9 am. Non-school days shifts are 12 hour shifts from 12-12.
Full time work may be available for the right candidate.
-Must provide a criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
