The Ministry of Trade and Export Development advances economic growth to generate opportunity in Saskatchewan and facilities a coordinated cross-government approach to attract investment and grow export markets.
The Ministry is seeking two (2) dynamic, high performing and strong relationship builders to join its team as Deputy Director in the Investment Attraction Branch, bringing their business and/or economic development acumen to the team. One (1) position will have a focus on the energy sector and the second (2) position will have a focus on the manufacturing sector. In these challenging and rewarding positions, we are looking for strategic and flexible professionals who are committed to delivering results for Saskatchewan while fostering an innovative, collaborative and one-team approach.
Typically, the knowledge and competencies for these positions would have been acquired through an educational background in Business Administration, Commerce, or Economics, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in economic development and/or investment.
Preference will be given to those who have:
- An understanding of the opportunities to attract investment in Saskatchewans energy or manufacturing sectors;
- A proven ability to lead and collaborate, with a reputation for integrity and a focus on service excellence and innovation;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- The ability to think critically and view issues and challenges from multiple perspectives; and
- The values of the Saskatchewan public service of respect and integrity, serving citizens, excellence and innovation and working as one team.
The successful candidates will be willing and able to travel. The positions will require travel within Saskatchewan, Canada and potentially international.
