Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Quality and Safety, the Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is accountable for the application and adaptation of the nursing
process to help protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of employees in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the
Saskatchewan Health Authority. The OHN identifies, manages or eliminates risk to employees by developing and coordinating health and safety
programming in compliance with legal, industry and leading practice standards. Services are based upon regional and individual needs. The OHN is
knowledgeable in occupational health and safety, occupational screening, environmental health, and human relations. The OHN requires excellent
communication and administration skills in the provision of occupational health services to a variety of stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Certification in Occupational Health or willing to obtain within 3 years of employment
Occupational Health Nursing Certificate or Occupational Health and Safety Diploma
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
Experience
Minimum One (1) years clinical experience in Occupational Health Nursing (preferred) or Public Health Nursing or other related experience.
Certification and maintenance of competencies required to practice as an OHN, including but not limited to the delivery of immunization biological
products, anaphylaxis management, CPR (Health Care Provider) is required.
Ability to apply advanced computer skills.
Possession of a valid Class 5 drivers license. Travel is required.
